Sun’s standard Solenoid Operated Ventable Relief valves help to save energy and reduce heat in hydraulic systems. These pre-configured valve assemblies offer a convenient means to provide system relief protection combined with the ability to unload a pump with a simple ON/OFF electrical signal.
Sun's full Cartridge Symbol Library is available for download from our website. These new symbols accurately depict Sun cartridge functionality and are specific to the control mechanism and spool configuration where applicable.
To satisfy this broad range of flow and pressure requirements, Sun offers a complete lineup of solenoid operated 2-way valves, both direct acting and pilot operated, with flow capacities up to 120 gpm (450 L/min.) and pressure ratings of 5000 psi (350 bar).
Protect Hydrostatic Transmission Circuits with Sun’s Delayed Shift Hot Oil Shuttle.

In a closed loop hydrostatic transmission circuit, a low side hot oil shuttle valve is used to discharge supercharge oil from the low side of the loop for cooling. This shuttle valve is piloted from the pump work ports, with the highest pressure shifting the valve so that the opposite (low pressure) side of the loop is connected to tank (typically through a hot oil relief valve, into the motor case).

Sun has recently introduced a new family of combination valve cartridges that incorporate a relief and check function into a single cartridge. And since both functions exist in one, only one cavity is required.
